Monday I connected with a friend and we went on a whirlwind tour of Mumbai. Our first stop was a Ganesha temple. Ganesha is one of my favorite ditties because he's the remover of obstacles. Or, if you're heading in the wrong direction, he puts obstacles in your path to deter you. He's the elephant headed God.

There's quite a bit of commerce happening at this Ganesha temple! Many vendors sell souvenirs and baskets of offerings for Ganesha.

The offering basket included flowers (Ganesh especially loves those red hibiscus flowers!), ladoos (a sweet made with flour, fat, and jaggery or sugar that Ganesha also loves), and some other items. After my offerings were given to Ganesh, I received the blessed sweets and a flower back. I've been enjoying the ladoos on my way home. 😋

The Ganesha at this temple was orange and abstract looking. There were a couple of priests stationed around this temple as well, offering blessings. It was a great start to my Mumbai tour!
